“I saw something move. It had legs!”
“Every now and then I see the face of a black and white dog looking at me.”
    “This is boring!”
“Do I want to jump off this cliff?”
    “I smell salt!”

He’s a real character. He was shorn a few months back, quite like a sheep really. It gives him quite a different look. He is a very smart dog and picks things up instantly but is quite timid and extremely protective. There are the usual things he vi8olently objects to like the postman but he has a few of his own too. I was completely unprepared for his reaction when the kids got on the school bus for the first time. He went absolutely troppo and barked so must that I’m surprised he didn’t explode. He certainly looked like he needed a muzzle and listing on the dangerous dogs registry. It was like the bus was eating the kids. He also barks when I drop the kids at school, even though they come home every day. He probably thinks I’m being a very bad mother dropping them off like that and is telling me off. Of course, he’s obsessed with his ball and there have been times of stress at home and then you hear this bounce, bounce, bounce and it is a bit of a circuit breaker.
We’ve only had Lady for six months and she does come across as being a bit dopey at times but then she strikes and proves your doubts wrongs. She is quite an accomplished food thief and I am starting to wonder whether playing “dumb” is all part of her strategy so she can catch up off guard.

Another possibility is: Come on Bilbo. You can get your paws wet. Come on. You can do it. Embrace the waves. Feel the salt water wash through your coat. Ride the wave!”
    Humph!
“Not on your life” he replies!!

Those cliffs really are striking! I love their depth and jagged line. Bilbo looks very inquisitive. Maybe he’s wondering how structurally sound they are as the sand grains shift beneath his paws. šŸ˜‰

Thanks Alex. He’s a very smart dog and quite cautious so he could well be wondering whether he should be standing there. He doesn’t like getting his paws wet or waves so he would have been quite reticent up there.
I was stoked to find those cliff formations because, as you appreciated, they were very photogenic.
