A Letter to the Sun.

Dear Sun,

Where the @#$$% are you?

Just in case you haven’t checked your calendar lately, it’s now the end of September. You’re supposed to be here by now and no more of these fleeting drop-in, guest appearances either! It’s well and truly Spring. Summer is just around the corner…not a few blocks away, despite what you might think. You’re supposed to be here by now!

Indeed, it’s now almost October and for some strange reason, you’ve gone Missing In Action.

It is currently 14.8Β°C and I know I can’t blame you for the wind but it’s a roaring 14 knots and even the dogs are complaining that their fur is being blown all the way to New Zealand.

After preliminary inquiries, I’ve established that you were last seen on the Australian East Coast on Monday 21st September at 5.50PM, although there have been a few unconfirmed sightings since then.

Meanwhile, I’ve received confirmed reports that you’ve escaped back to the Northern Hemisphere and I’m starting to wonder if you’ve been snatched, although I’m yet to receive any ransom demands.

I repeat where the @#$$% are you?

If you don’t report back in by 07.00 hours, you will be considered AWOL and can expect an instant court martial upon your return.

Yours sincerely,

Australia.

Yup. Good ol Sol is on holiday in the Midwest. We’re supposed to be enjoying 10 degree above normal temperatures this month. I think she is trying to make up for the freak cold spell last winter that only sat on the U.S. πŸ˜ƒ I’m sure her stay will be over here soon and we’ll get back to our regularly scheduled crap fall weather… just like you’re enjoying now!

  2. New Journey

I thought the sun had headed your way, but wait he’s back here again…I will again have another talk with the sun goddess and it should be there momentarily!!! XXkat

Sorry everyone, LA wins! The sun has firmly and probably permanently transplanted itself in California. I’m in NorCal and we will be having YET ANOTHER 90+ degree day. Sorry we have been hogging the sun, but we are willing to give it up for some rain, just enough to get out of the drought…then we’ll be wanting it back πŸ™‚ Cute post!!!

It’s a lovely fall day here. The sun is shining, and there’s a nice breeze. We’re supposed to get rain though soon, so the sun is probably heading your way! πŸ™‚
I’m hoping the weather is sunny for nest weekend when we have an outing planned.

Yes, sadly it’s gone AWOL and seems to have moved permanently to the Northern Hemisphere where it’s been in the 80’s with nary a cloud in the sky. I’d be happy to trade you some sun for some showers. But you can keep the wind, thank you very much. πŸ˜‰

  6. Minuscule Moments

Catching up on all my reading here Rowena I look outside and its FOG with possible sun sighting later in the day, if for only a few minutes, where by it is replaced with a dull grey sky. Poor kids have had to make do and go to the beach anyway. Hoping all that talk about the weekend being HOT is true. Enjoy whats left of the holidays.
