This pelican seems to be taking the easy way out.

I wonder if pelicans can read…
Too much hard work, it’s given up fishing and is waiting for fish co-op to open.

The Lazy Bird waits for the Fish.
Geoff spotted this pelican outside the Hawkesbury River Fish Co-Op in Brooklyn, Sydney.

Sensible pelican!
Lazy or opportunistic? 😉
We don’t have pelicans in Finland but in Florida they were everywhere!!
I think smart. Dogs figured out out it was smart to hook up with humans.
This made me smile. 🙂
Looks pretty content to me…..love the picture…kat
intelligent fellow!
There are quite a few species of bird who’ve latched onto humans too. Loads of pensioners feed the local magpies and they become their quasi children. It’s so sweet. We used to feed them our leftover bread. People also feed the Rainbow Lorrikeets bread and honey soaked with a bit of water. They love it.
Smart birds and human slaves.
They probably don’t like getting cold feet!
The pelican also hang out locally at the fish co-op called Fisherman’s Wharf. They have been known to snatch your bag full of fish/fish and chips out of your hand. They also feed them in the afternoon and it’s a great spectacle watching them diving on fish skeletons and battling it out.
Probably opportunistic. My husband also pointed out that it’s very well fed. So, chances are that it goes fishing and gets fed…a bit like Lady.
I don’t think we have pelicans here, only gulls, but I may be wrong. I know there are pelicans in Florida.
I remember a toy pelican that my girls used to play with at my mother-in-law’s house when they were little. It may have come from Florida.
Ha ha ha! That’s funny!
Beautiful shot! I recall one fishing trip a clever birdie stealing the fish when the kids threw the small ones back Rowena.
Wonderful shots! 🙂 ❤
Thanks very much, Dina xx Rowena
