Weekend Coffee Share – 12th February, 2018.

Welcome to Another Weekend Coffee Share!

Hey, what do you feel like today? I’m not sure I can deliver, especially if you’re used to more complex beverages like a “pumpkin spiced latte”. Nothing like that exists around here, but I do have Twinings English Breakfast Tea and a coffee machine. I’ve been virtually coffee free for a few weeks now. It was reeking havoc with my digestion, although I succombed a few times when Zombie Woman needed a caffeine hit.

Perhaps, that’s what I needed today because after waking up at the normal time, both of the kids were sick and I was feeling whoozy and went back to bed. I woke up at 3.45PM struggling to move. I’ve been under a lot of stress in the last week, and it’s gone straight to my muscles. Need a crane to get around at the moment. Anyone got a spare?

The highlight of the last week, was writing a philosophical/humorous post about searching Ebay for the Meaning of Life. On one hand it seems a little bit out there, but on the other hand, I’ve been wondering why I didn’t think of this before. My way of thinking is pretty off beat and turning to Ebay for the answers is the sort of random thing I’d come up with. I was feeling pretty distraught at the time and the really quirky side of my brain so this invitation. Ebay said you could “search for anything”. What about Hope? Do you think I could find hope on Ebay? Well, Ebay doesn’t promise that you’ll find what you’re looking for. When it came to hope, Ebay delivered bike parts.

If you’d interested to see what else Ebay offered up on the important questions of Hope, Despair, Optimism, Pessimism, Love, Hate, the Meaning of Life, the Meaning of Death, I love to hear your thoughts: Life According to Ebay.

The kids are settling into school well. They had school photos on Friday, which were a lot more painless than expected. I thought it might’ve been difficult to get my daughter out the door. She’s just into her second week of high school, but I’ve seen school photo day up there before and you could call is “Look at my hair day”. All the girls seem to take giving their hair 100 brushes out in the sun to a whole new level. Wow! I can’t remember when I last went to the hairdresser, not that that’s a good thing. The hairdresser I was going to closed down and change isn’t something I tend to do well. Besides, as you well may be aware, a hairdresser doesn’t just cut your hair. They’re your psychologist, psychiatrist, philosophical advisor and ego stroker. It’s a demanding job. So, I’ve been left to fend for myself.

I also contributed to Friday Fictioneers this week. That was quite a lof of fun and my flash transferred the usual travel debacles into the realms of teleporting… Not the Taj Mahal

How has your week been? I hope it’s been great.

This has been another Weekend Coffee Share, hosted by Eclectic Alli.

Best wishes,

Thank you Rowena, that all sounds very good. I hope your muscles are grand again now. Oh I love my cup of coffee in the morning! Loved reading your article above, great writing!

  2. New Journey

I am not sure I could live without coffee…LOL didn’t start drinking it until I was in my 20’s but once I started, I was hooked!!! I switched to decaf once while I was on a detox cleanse but went right back after the 21 days…LOL my husband has cut way back die to digestive problems himself. He drinks tea all day into the night, I think I would float away. Bummer about the bug getting you and the kids down. Knocking on wood it has missed us this year. We have been pretty much hanging low at home….hope your muscles are working and your all back to feeling good. Life is good here, seems like we are busy replacing all the appliances at once..xxkat

Appliances have a tendency to go on the blink at once.. I’ve heard it said that they were bought around the same time but I think theres more to it. While it could be a bug in the genes, I think it’s more a psychological thing. Or, just pure rebellion. The kettle’s let off enough steam and decides to blow up.
BTW did you like my little M&M man in his recliner? I found him the other night when i was looking for recliners on ebay. plan to buy him. He can be my mascot. I particularly like his facial expression. xx Ro

Thank you very much, Gaia. I used to live by that first cup of coffee in the morning but the tea’s doing the job atm. I’m hoping to get back to it in a few months after my stomach has settled down from the antibiotics.
Hope you have a great week.
    xx Rowena

Yes your M&M man what a cutie…I never go on Ebay, I would be busy buying all the time…LOL My cousin buys her antique planters on ebay…She loves it. I have a theory that cars and appliance all talk to each other…jealousy for sure…LOL

Who is trying to pick up who? I reckon it’s the appliances who are playing hard to get.
I used to work in the small appliance department of a department store and the appliances always refused to work during demonstrations. It’s since been proven that I have some kind of magnetism which causes technology to fail.
The more I look at the M&M guy, the more I feel like him. She’s slumped to one side and I love the mouth. It’s me after the family has gone to bed and I finally get to let off steam.
BTW currently watching a doco about searching for Atlantis which is fascinating. There’s so much under the water, which remains a mystery when you can view almost everything above ground on Google earth.
BTW just to update you on the pups shenanigans, Rosie stole a jar of crushed crushed garlic. It smashed on the floor but that didn’t stop them from from helping themselves. I swear these dogs are mad and you should’ve smelt their breath. OMG! Pure essence of garlic. It was ripe!
    Well, I’d better keep moving.
Hope you have a great week!
    xx Ro

LOL we are looking for a border this summer. I really miss having a dog around….I agree about under the ocean, there is so much to see….I believe that they will have a camera in the ocean soon…like the google live web cams….can’t wait…xx

That’s so exciting you’re getting a new border. I can’t live without one…or three although ours have been diluted.
Do you dive at all? My husband has been and it just sounds so beautiful. I once swam with a huge turtle at Monkey Mia in Western Australia, which is better known for swimming with dolphins. I’ll never forget that experience.
Hope you have a great weekend and think of me being on the Scout BBQ for two hours tomorrow morning. I will be in so over my head so I hope someone knows what they’re doing. I’ll just smile!
